About
About Thoughtsfromhere
This is a personal blog about a week when ordinary tasks failed across the country, and about the decisions I have been trying to make more carefully since. It is not a newsroom and it is not a portrait of the person who writes it.
Why this blog exists
I started Thoughtsfromhere in 2026 because the week would not leave me alone, and because the first stories I told about it were too tidy. I had written notes while the payments were stuck and the calls were dying. When I read those notes later I could see the places I had offered certainty I did not have. I wanted a public page where I would have to keep those places visible, including the ones that do not flatter me.
I also wanted a place that was not a feed. A feed rewards a sentence that travels. This week rewarded the opposite: a sentence that admits what it cannot tell you. I publish slowly. I leave the older pages up. I mark the dates when I change a line. That is the whole reason the site looks the way it does.
If you were in that week too, you may find something of your own morning here. You may also find that my morning was smaller than yours. I am not trying to speak for a country. I am trying to keep a few hard-earned habits from dissolving now that the phones work again.
Who writes it
I write under the name Thoughtsfromhere. I do not publish a personal name, a biography, or a photograph of my face. The week I am writing about reached almost every household I know. Making the blog about a face would move the centre of the work from the decisions to a personality, and I do not want that trade. You will not find a team page, because there is no team. You will not find a staff title, because I do not hold one I am willing to lean on.
Everything here is personal experience. It is not expertise offered in anyone else’s name. I do not have a professional licence that covers what I am describing, and I do not want the tone of a person who does. If a sentence sounds like advice, read it as a rule I keep for myself. If you need counsel, you will have to find it from someone who is actually licensed to give it in the relevant field. This desk is not that desk.
How I work
I start with notes written the same day, often in the notebook I carried that week. I let the notes sit for at least a week. A sentence that still feels necessary after seven quiet days is usually a sentence I can stand behind. A sentence that only felt necessary in the heat of the evening is usually a sentence that wanted an audience.
When I change a published line I mark the date of the change on the page. I last went back through the public text on 18 February 2026. I do not silently tidy myself into a wiser person. If you want the method in more detail, the journal page on how I write these is the same method described from the other side.
I do not keep a publishing calendar. A calendar would ask me to have something to say on a Tuesday. I would rather wait until a question has followed me around the apartment long enough that I can walk all the way around it.
What this blog is not
Thoughtsfromhere is not a news service. I do not report an investigation of my own, and I do not sit on deadline. It is not a place to find the name of a company, an office, or an official who can be made to carry the week. It is not a consultation, and it is not a place to bring an emergency. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services. If you want a correction to something I wrote, the contact page is the right door.
I also do not publish reviews, ratings, or quoted praise from readers I have invented. If a letter arrives that I am asked to publish, I will treat that as a separate decision and I will not do it by default. Most letters stay between us.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, write to me at [email protected] and name the page and the sentence. I will change what I can stand behind changing. I will add a short dated note on the page so a later reader can see that the line moved. I will not argue you into silence, and I will not change a sentence only because it is uncomfortable. The test is whether the line is true to what I actually know.
Please do not send another person’s private details, or a screenshot that shows a name they have not agreed to show. I will not use that material, and I would rather not have it in the inbox.

I read weekend notes on Monday. I reply within one business day. The blog runs on commercial shared hosting and does not build analytics profiles from readers. Personal opinion and personal recollection. Thoughtsfromhere is not a news service and reports no investigation of its own.
